Once again we went to the doc today. The scale finally tipped at 150 lbs. (Jeff, i did not take a pic like you wanted me to, not something i want to remember!), there was no protein in the urine this time!
The doc did an exam again and it turns out that my cervix is thinned out 60% already and I am dilated 1 cm! She said that she didn’t think I would make it til the due date which is November 25th. Jon says the baby will be here November 12th, where he got that number from i don’t know!!!!!
They also hooked me up to a monitor since the babies movement had somewhat decreased, or i’m not paying any attention. The monitoring came back fine! Our next appointment is Thursday and hopefully everything will go well again.
We are also preparing for the baby shower this weekend. We got a lot of RSVP’s and we are excited to see everyone!

Yes, only 38 days left until the due date!
We went to see the doctor. The baby’s heart rate was 135 (doesn’t mean it is a boy or girl still). I’m about 147lbs now, which puts me up 29lbs so far, but I shouldn’t gain too much more as the baby is supposed to get bigger, and the amount of fluid is supposed to decrease. My cervix has thinned out since 2 weeks ago and the baby is very low. You could say that it has dropped. The head is in position, and only about 2″ away from “the gateway to the world”.
I did have some protein in my urine, so I have to go see the doc next week, and every week from here on out. Normally we would have went in 2 weeks, but because swelling (which I have), protein in urine (have), and high blood pressure (don’t have) can lead to some toxicity problems for the baby (preeclampsia). Fortunately, high blood pressure is the big symptom, so I should be ok. If I do end up being diagnosed, then they may have to deliver the baby early. We’ll see how it goes. Only like 1 in 2000 people get it, so I’m probably safe.
The baby should be about 18″ long and 5lbs right now. We’re taking a baby class tomorrow, and it is 8 hours long. We’ll see the hospital, learn how to check in, see the delivery rooms, the nursery, have a birthing class, and probably watch some really graphic video.

We went for another doctors appointment today (i know this is getting old) and had to wait a long time again before we got called back.
The scale says 142 lbs. and the baby’s heartbeat was 130. As the doctor was measuring my belly she said that i was having a contraction right then…..my belly was hard and the shape of it changed. Now, i had no clue those are contractions, they are the painless Braxton Hicks contractions that i get multiple times a day and have had them for weeks maybe even months (maybe I should pay more attention, i just thought the baby was stretching).
I mentioned to her that I have had light menstrual cramps and that about two weeks ago, I had them for about 6 hours but they were not very painful and nothing i could time. So, because of that she went ahead and “felt me up” (haha). She said my cervix was still soft (whatever that means) and she could feel the baby’s head!!!!! Jon asked what the chances are of the baby switching positions and she said most likely the baby will remain in the current position.
Kathy
Just to catch you all up… 55 days (or so) and counting. Baby is about 4lbs and 17in long. Yeah, huge compared to just 6 weeks ago when it weighed less than half as much and was just over 14 inches.
Kathy is still doing fine. We worked out in the yard yesterday and she helped pick up sticks. For all of you who tell Kathy not to even break wind, she’s fine. The doc along with a lot of other women with children told Kathy to keep moving and stretching.
Apparently the baby can hear better now, and it gets better each week. No more F bombs for Kathy. Also its lungs are still developing and it is taking fluid into its lungs so that it will be ready to take its first breath in just a few days.
BUT THE BIG NEWS IS THIS: if it is a boy its testicles are dropping this week
