8 month update

We went for another doctors appointment today (i know this is getting old) and had to wait a long time again before we got called back.

The scale says 142 lbs. and the baby’s heartbeat was 130. As the doctor was measuring my belly she said that i was having a contraction right then…..my belly was hard and the shape of it changed. Now, i had no clue those are contractions, they are the painless Braxton Hicks contractions that i get multiple times a day and have had them for weeks maybe even months (maybe I should pay more attention, i just thought the baby was stretching).

I mentioned to her that I have had light menstrual cramps and that about two weeks ago, I had them for about 6 hours but they were not very painful and nothing i could time. So, because of that she went ahead and “felt me up” (haha). She said my cervix was still soft (whatever that means) and she could feel the baby’s head!!!!! Jon asked what the chances are of the baby switching positions and she said most likely the baby will remain in the current position.

Braxton Hicks are good, as long as you don’t start dilating yet! That just means your body is getting ready and most importantly, knows what to do! Baby Woodall will be here before you know it and you’ll look back at the last 9 months and wonder where they went!!!
